Hello!

Thank God it’s Friday! I hope all’s well with you and that you’re enjoying your fall (or spring, depending on which half of the world you’re in…) as much as I am right now. These past few days have been amazing, temperature-wise. We’ve had temperatures over 21 degrees Celsius and that’s rather rare. At least if you live in Sweden. I can’t remember a warm day with a temperature above 20 degrees here in Sweden in late September. It’s almost like early/late summer. Weird, but I’m LOVING it!

Anyway, I’ve been far too busy at work to be starting on anything new when it comes to my art. Whenever I do have some time off, I usually like to play on my guitar…and I feel lack of inspiration lately so I haven’t drawn anything in a while. Been thinking about painting something though. The beautiful fall colours makes me wanna paint something!

I’ve been featured in a DeviantART site with my drawing of Jared Followill! =) So yeah, take a look at the feature HERE!

My drawing got featured...

Alright, off to work soon. Happy Friday!

I saw this picture of Jared Leto on his Twitter account a while ago and I knew immediately that I had to draw it. I don’t know why though…it was just one of “those” moments were my attention got caught by a random picture.

Anyway, so here a couple of WIP’s that I posted on my Twitter account while I was working on the drawing. I know they’re not the best quality ‘coz I took them with my iPod touch… But you get an idea of how I started on the drawing. I drew the outlines first, then started working on the shading. Oh yeah – and as most of my work; this is a charcoal drawing.

And here’s the finished drawing (Click on it to see a larger version!)…

As for the title of the drawing…well, if you’re a fan of his band 30 Seconds to Mars, then you’re most likely pretty familiar with the phrase. If not…Google it! ;P

(And for those wondering; no – I’m not an Echelon (Google that too…). I’m just a music lover.)

Alright, I hope ya like!

So uhm… first off, I apologize in advance if this entry comes off like something written by a 15-year-old teeny bopper (no offense to anyone), but I just got a tweet back from a band member of my all time favourite band right now. I’m having a major fan-girl-moment. If you’ve been following me, you know I’m a huge fan of Kings of Leon’s music (hence to my other drawings of them…) So uhm, I decided to draw the band’s bass player a while ago; Jared Followill. Mainly ‘coz I like how he plays the bass and I always like to learn his bass parts on guitar. Anyway, so today I finally finished the drawing of him and uploaded it on my deviantART gallery, then tweeted it for my followers to check it out. One of my followers said I should tweet it to Jared (‘coz he has an official verified twitter account), but I was like “Nah, I doubt he’ll even bother taking a look at it”. Still, I just decided to take a shot and tweeted it to him…Got a tweet back from him six minutes later… (Screen capture from my iPod)

Jared Followill tweeted me back... :)

And now I’m in lala-land. Dayum. I know it might not mean a thing to you, but it just feels very awesome to me, y’know… :)

Anyway, so here’s the drawing, which I just simply named “Young Followill”…lack of imagination when it comes to titles, I suppose!

Oh yeah, this is a charcoal drawing. I have no idea how much time I spent on it. Been working on it a little every day for the past week or so.

Alright…gonna call it a day now. What a way to wrap up this weekend. Knowing that one of the band members of my fave band checked out my drawing of him. *sigh* G’nite, you awesome people!

FINALLY – I’ve finished my drawing of Kings of Leon! I don’t know how many hours I’ve spent on this one, but probably over 9 hours. I never count – I just draw.

Anyway, so it’s a charcoal drawing…that I really enjoyed doing as I love this band’s music. I don’t care what people say – to me they’re probably one of the greatest bands out there today. If not the best. I still haven’t seen them live (yet) and they’re probably the only band that I have to see before I die. I’ve already seen “The Wall” by Roger Waters…the closest that I can get to Pink Floyd today. Once I see KoL…I can die happy. Not that I’m planning on dying any time soon!

I don’t have much to say about the techniques other than drawing the plaid shirt on Matthew was a bit of a pain in the ass. I didn’t even take a look at the shirt until I was almost done with the other three guys and then I realized that “Damn – a plaid shirt!” But I have to say that I think it turned out pretty OK.

Will hang this drawing on my wall, next to my drawing of my guitar hero (David Gilmour). Hope ya like! :)

The Kings I wanna see...

Still here…

No I haven’t left this blog, nor have I’ve been ignoring it. I have been really busy with working full-time. Haven’t had much free time off and whenever I’ve had some time off, drawing/painting hasn’t exactly been the first thing I’ve been wanting to do.

Right now I have summer vacation. I have 4 weeks off…but 3 of them has already gone by =(. I’ve had a great vacation so far though. Spent 10 days in Spain. Ah, lovely Spain! *sigh* The weather here in Sweden could be better. Cloudy, humid days are not on top of my list, but any time off to do whatever I feel like doing is a good day. Just trying to think positive.

Anyway, so for the ones who’ve been following me here, on my deviantART site or on Twitter for

a while – you guys know that I’m a big Kings of Leon fan. I’d say they’re probably the best rock band (out of the modern bands) out there now. Yup. So yeah, I’m working on a new drawing right now. A drawing of the band and here’s a preview of my work…

Will of course upload the finished drawing here and on my DA once it’s done. Happy weekend!

Oh wow, so I haven’t updated this blog in a while. “Is there anybody out there?” ;P I hope I still have a few followers out there… So I’ve drawn a lot since my last drawing (you can see some of my recent work on my DeviantART gallery HERE), but I haven’t had the time to update my art here… Sorry about that!

Lots of things have happened since last too. Last Saturday (May 7) I went to see Roger Waters live in concert. Yup, I was lucky to see his “The Wall” show in Copenhagen, Denmark, along with 50 000 other fans! For the ones who don’t know who he is, Waters is a former member of Pink Floyd. Only the best band EVER (in my humble opinion…)! I grew up listening to Pink Floyd because dad is a huge PF himself. I never got over the fact that he got to see Pink Floyd live when I was still too young to go to any concerts. So when we heard about Waters’ “The Wall” tour in Europe, we just knew we had to get tickets, no matter how much they’d cost!

The show itself was beyond amazing. It was such an experience. I’ve got to admit that I got quite touched when the show started and it just hit me that “Damn, I’m looking at The Wall!!!”, a show that I’d seen so many time on my dad’s old video tapes… It was so surreal…so amazing and wonderful. I just didn’t want it to be over. Waters might be 67 (I think), but damn – he STILL got it! He sounded exactly like he did 30 years ago, when “The Wall” album was released. *sigh* I wish I could turn back time to last Saturday again. Another thing that I loved about this show was that I got to share that experience with my old man (and my sister too). Awesome weekend, for sure!

Alright, enough about that…

Here’s my latest drawing; Roger Waters, of course. The drawing itself was easy to draw. A lot of black…

By the way, this is a photograph of the drawing. I’m planning on scanning it, to get a better quality of it. Hope you still like it!

Hello!

So here’s my latest drawing of Mr. Somerhalder. Yes, another one… Actually, I drew this as a request. Didn’t really enjoy drawing this one…thought that the portrait was boring, but it was a request so…

Anyway, I used the same old material; charcoal pencils, eraser and paper. Took me about 5 hors to draw. Yup…that’s about all I had to say about this one. Hope ya like! ;)

After everything that’s been happening in this world lately I was inspired to make this picture. It’s done on Photoshop…

This is the first drawing were I had to draw water. The water droplets was actually the main reason to why I wanted to draw this (OK, so the guy had a lot to do with it also… I’m a girl…)

I had no idea of how I’d draw the water, so bear with me if it looks unrealistic – it was my first time! I think I did quite good on it though…

Used the same old charcoal pens, eraser, paper…you know the drill.

Uhm..yeah, don’t have that much to say about the drawing…

Thank you, mom

Thank you, mom

Thank you, mom

I guess that you weren’t expecting my next drawing to be one of an unknown person, right? ;P Anyway, this is a drawing of my mom as a kid. My twin sister has been in Chile for the past few months and she came across some old family photos there, one of them being a photograph of my mom. When I first saw it, I thought it was a pic of me of me as a kid. The resemblance is pretty amazing and I’d never seen a pic of my mom at this age.

Anyway, so I wanted to draw her…hadn’t done that before either. The drawing itself took me about 4 hours to draw. I used different charcoal pens, an eraser…paper of course…same old, same old.

I don’t have much else to say about this drawing!
